Antiquorum Hong Kong produced a stunning result when this 1991 Cartier Crash watch fetched nearly US $ 112,000 (inc premiums etc) at auction on May 10th. Against an estimate of $ 25-35,000 and with the previous record for a similar watch of (a very high) $ 82,000, this result really was stunning..In spite of Corona..there no crash in these watch prices. The auction otherwise was a big bust...I am not knowledgeable enough to know whether the contents of the sale was generally weak which explains the poor sale results or whether this indicates there are problems in the watch market....But for us Cartier aficionados, we can pop, the champagne..
